The way things are currently going, seems like I'll make an ebook for most of it, and then I'll make a summary tutorial out of that which may or may not use Pokemon. Colour's a much bigger topic than I anticipated.
It wouldn't be necessary to be into Pokémon (actually I don't think it would help aside from just being more fun). The idea is that given Pokémon are often fairly flat colours, and the gamut of Pokémon colours is large, they would be a) good examples of colour swatches, and b) can be more easily used to illustrate lighting, too.
Any little cartoon characters would work, it's just that having to make my own would be more effort than necessary to get the colour tutorial done, and Pokémon are well-known and there are lots of them.
